On the evening of Wednesday 19th June 2019, our school Musical Soiree took place. Most of the children who play a musical instrument, in or out of school, took to the stage to perform a solo or group performance. The school choir sang three songs: ‘Sing’ by Gary Barlow, ‘A Cover Is Not The Book’ from the film Mary Poppins Returns and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by Queen. The Orchestra played the pieces ‘Mission Impossible’ and ‘In The Hall Of The Mountain King’ as well as Bohemian Rhapsody with the choir. All the individuals, duets and groups were incredible and everybody put in a lot of effort to make it a success, especially Mrs Young and Mr Weinberger.
“I enjoyed playing in the Musical Soiree and it was fun to watch all the other talented people,” said Illyana.
“It was really good and there were a lot of different musical instruments. It was really fun to perform in orchestra, Year 3/ 4 recorder group and on the piano with Mrs Edgel,” said Sophie.
“It was great to perform in front of an audience for the first time,” said Isabelle.
“It was cool playing in the orchestra, the choir and the Year 3/ 4 recorder group. I really enjoyed everybody’s performances, especially some of the solo’s,” said Lydia.
