EMAIL SENT 18/10/19Dear Parents,
Not long to go until we head off to London to see the amazing treasures of Tutankhamun. Please find listed below the information you need to know to ensure that your child is prepared for the day.
The trip takes place on Tuesday 5th November 2019
We will be leaving Minchinhampton at 8:15, so could you please make sure your child is in school between 8am-8:10am for registration.
If the cattle grid is still being worked on, we are going to need to walk up to Dr Brown's Rd.
We will not be able to wait for late arrivals, so please be prompt.
We will be leaving London around 3pm so should be back in Minchinhampton for around 6pm. We will contact you if we are delayed or expecting an earlier arrival.
If your child suffers with travel sickness, please make sure that you have provided them with the relevant medicine and notified their class teacher.
Your child will need to have a coat with them.
School uniform must be worn.
Your child will need plenty of drinks for the day (no glass bottles or fizzy drinks please).
Packed lunch - as it will be a long day, we suggest that you pack a substantial lunch so that they have food for the return journey as well.
No need to send them with a camera - we will take the photographs for them with school cameras.
They may bring a book, a pack of cards or travel game for the journey, but NO technology.
Spending money - not necessary to bring, but if they want to buy a few postcards or maybe a souvenir, they can bring up to £5. The museum will have a shop with postcards etc., but at this time they cannot give me prices of items.
If you have any queries, please see your child's class teacher before the end of term.

LETTER ONE - SENT OUT 8TH MAY
TUTANKHAMUN: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh – Y3 and Y4
November 5th 2019
The letter is going out this early as we have to finalise booking early June.
We have received the opportunity to visit The Saatchi Gallery in London to see up close the treasures Howard Carter and his team discovered in Tutankhamun’s tombs! The exhibition will unveil more than 150 original objects from the tomb with 60 pieces travelling out of Egypt for the first and last time!
The trip will take place on Tuesday 5th November 2019. We will travel by coach (times to be confirmed closer to the date). We will send another letter out early on in the September 2019 with further details regarding lunches, spending money, request for helpers and coach times. The cost of the trip is £22.00. This covers the cost of the coach and entry into the exhibition.
As there may be another trip for you to finance in this current school year, we are asking that you only pay for the exhibition ticket before Friday 7th June 2019 which is £10.00 and then we will send another letter out with a reminder about the remaining cost to pay in September 2019.
Costs of trips can be problematic for all of us at sometimes. Please do not hesitate to let Mrs Bennett or Mr Moss know if you need to discuss the cost. We completely understand and can always find a way forward. Your child will never be denied a place on the trip if you decline to make a payment; however, the school cannot proceed with the trip unless there are sufficient contributions for it to be financed.
