We’ve had a busy but fun term in Royal class. We have done so much since we’ve come back to school and had lots of fun along the way. 

In English we’ve been doing Marcy and the riddle of the sphinx,The king who banned the dark and the bluest of blues (about Anna Atkins). at the start of the year, Mr Ricketts read us the land of roar, secrets of the Sun King and now the Explorer. we have also been doing reading fluency and practising reading different stories out loud.

In Maths, We have been doing place value mental additions, subtraction, multiplication and division. We did 3-D shapes and made Xmas decorations and now we’ve learned written column addition and subtraction.

In geography we have been doing climate change and we have been looking at ice caps melting and our local weather.  When vehicles were invented, the world started getting hotter and hotter. Because humans have been digging up fossil fuels.

In history, we have finished doing ancient Egyptians and focusing on Tutankhamun and Howard Carter and how he found him. Howard Carter found the body of King Tut in 1922 the valley of the Kings.

In computing, we have made scratch times table games and our codes made it so if the sprite wins then you lose.  We also made microbit games like rock paper scissors, a pet hamster and a shake on lights. We’re now making a Wiki with a partner about climate change.

In inside PE, we have been doing dance balancing and travels and gymnastics and now the year 3/4 songs for the play Sherlock and Cinders.  In outside PE we have been doing netball, hockey, handball, chaos tag and cross the golden river.

In music, we have been doing ABBA ,ukulele  in front of some 1/2 and the production songs all with Mrs Witt.

In PSHE, we have been doing keeping ourselves safe  and my happy mind in RE we’ve been doing the creation story and the story of Moses and the 10 Commandments which he found on Mount Sinai. God had given it to him he said he would guide them along the way.

In science we’ve done experiments defying gravity, mummifying apples, looking at magnets and plants and animals in our local environment. The three main branches of science are physics biology and chemistry.

In art, we’ve been doing sketching ,clay artefacts and now Jackie Morris. Run by Miss Tonner.

In DT, we cooked Italian meals in a group of five or six people. And only one adult and two helpers.

The best parts of this year is Bristol Museum, swimming and our upcoming production. The main parts in our production are Sherlock and Cinderella as well as Narcissa, the baddie!
