In the last couple of weeks we have been doing printing in art. First we ingrained circles from the Aztec and Mayan Sunstone in a piece of foam. Then we painted over it with yellow paint. Next we added on half of the patterns and painted it over with orange paint. Finally we added on the final
patterns then painted it over with red paint.
Last week we did code breaking in history. We had slips of paper that were hidden around the room and we had to find them and do the puzzle on them to find out the information we needed.
Last week ago we made our own suffrage movement posters on why women should have the vote. We were only allowed 33 words on our posters and only 3 colors. We used a mixture of big and small words to create interest for the viewer.
In history we had to do a debate to see if the Mayans and Aztecs were civilized or barbaric. They were barbaric because they sacrificed people and put their skulls on shelves and hearts in bowls. They were civilized because they played pok-ta-pok, grew food on chinampas and worked together as a community to run cities.
