Art
In art we have done some rainforest animals such as capybaras, macaws ,frogs, toucans and many others .We have done step by step drawings without using rulers. Just sketching out animals with pencils full of hard work and a tiny bit of rubbing out. By Austin
Shadows
We did a shadow experiment where we drew around each other with chalk at different times of the day. Midday is the shortest and the beginning and the end of the day was the longest. By Hugo
Collage
In art we have been learning about making collage animals and making them with different wallpaper fabrics. The artist we are learning about is Peter Clarke, who has done some incredible artwork on animals. Soon we will see more of his artwork and learn a bit about his life. For our final piece of art in collages, we will pick an animal from the rainforest and make a collage of that animal. By Josephine
Bean Bags
To get ready for making the clothes for the fashion show we made bean bags. Everyone made one and they all turned out amazing. First, we chose a fabric and we sewed one side and then we filled it with rice. Then we sewed the last side.
Amazon River Audio Description
We created an amazon river audio description and spoke them aloud on an upside-down table. The upside-down table acted as our boat. We wrote on a whiteboard a description of the rainforest, using a descriptosaurus to help and read it out loud. We imagined we were travelling down the river, and the guide was pointing out all the sights around us. There was a video of the rainforest on the big screen to help us visualise.
