Seriously, where has this term gone? It seems to have flown by, but we’ve had a good time along the way!
In Geography, we have been learning about climate change. Lately, we have made maps with stickers on them and colour coded them for the climate zones. We have also been learning about how animals are dying and we need to stop it soon. If we do stop it soon then all the damage might undo. If we don’t then it might be like this forever and we’ll lose lots of species of animals.
In French, we’ve been describing ourselves and before we learned numbers in French. We’ve been learning colours and we have had lots of fun doing the sheets. We have also been describing body parts and learning about ages and how to say them in French.
In English we have finished the blues of blues and are excited to see what we’re doing next. We have interviewed AI in the role of an Atkins and came up with questions to ask her. It would give us the answers and we start our book. Last time we did the king who banned the dark and had lots of fun coming up with our own versions. Before that we had Marcy in the riddle of the Sphinx. It was awesome and was about all the adventures meeting the Sphinx and saving her dad.
In maths we’ve done column addition and subtraction and written multiplication. We’ve learnt our times tables and now we’re on dividing. First, we have divided by tens, hundreds, and thousands. Year threes have divided by tens and random numbers. We’ve also been doing written division, and it was quite fun.
In art we did Jackie Morris using oil paint and having fun there was so many options to choose from what to make there were foxes, birds owls, lizards, snakes and we all enjoyed it very much. Some of the favourites whether the fox the snake and the Raven.
In reading we did the Explorer and it was such a great book! We’ve finished it now and we’re starting Podkin one ear!
Also, in reading fluency we’re doing lots of different bits from books and answering questions at the end (on Wednesday)
in the school production we are working on Sherlock and cinders. there are kings, Queens, princess, princes, Cinderella and of course Sherlock Holmes and Watson and the very evil Narcissa. The story is about how Cinderella dances with the prince but then when the clock strikes midnight she has to run.
In PE we are doing hockey. before this we did netball and at the end of each PE lesson if we have time, we play games. sometimes we don’t have time, and we line up to go back to class ready for music. We’ve been learning our production songs and before that we’d have a band and we’d listen to a different song from them each week and sing or play instruments.
in indoor PE we have been learning the dances for the production. before that we were just learning dances and having fun. for the warmup, we did the “ram sam sam” dance. It was fun and it was also tricky because it’s sped up.
In PSHE we have been learning about how similar elephants can be to humans and we do lots of similar things. when we do PSHE in Mrs Witt class we do my happy mind and learning how to be safe and we learn how much elephants can remember in class assembly time.
in computing we’ve been working on our geography work as well. we made maps that fade away into the next one and we’ve been making charts and all that goes into our climate change wiki which we have made with a partner. We’ve written about what climate change is doing and how it’s affecting animals. last term we used microbit to make stuff like rock paper, scissors games, funny voice changers, and a pet hamster!
In DT we are making houses to beat the floods. We’ve just tested materials. before that we were cooking. some of the things we cooked were spaghetti pizza and pizza pockets. it was so much fun. we’ve done a lot in DT and it’s nice to not only have art!
At the end of the day, sometimes we play games like Heads down thumbs up and good morning your majesty and occasionally billbugs grub. sometimes we have show and tells at the end of the day some people bring in 3-D dragons and others like me bring dragons eyes they have made and some people just bring their drawings that they did at lunch or from home. There are lots of different show and tells which we have enjoyed doing!
