In the first term of royal class in English, we read Marcy and the riddle the sphinx Marcy was scared of the dark thinking she could never become a explorer one day Marcy and her dad went off for a walk coming up to a dark cave Marcy was too scared later that night her dad went missing Marcy flew over the world to Egypt but ended up falling into Thoth to his hideout Marcy tried to steal the moon eye, but she was too kind. She ended up meeting some Egyptian gods on her journey, but she ended up saving her father with some troubles on her way. This term in English we have learned about the king who banned the dark. He doesn’t like dark and in the book it’s mainly black-and-white and a little yellow he spread rumours about the dark it was his advises idea. We also came up with some rumours ourselves the people then did protests and revolutions try and ban the dark and the Kings plan went accordingly as he wanted we are excited to learn more about this king.
Before half term, as a class book we read land of roar the character win would’ve said it was imaginary! it was very adventurous and lessons were learnt. sisters and brothers, maybe grumpy but they’re always there if you need help that was a lesson we learnt. there were dragons mermaid witches and some girls that now own a castle I wonder what happens in book 2. After half term we are reading secrets of the Sun King there’s mystery to be solved a professor named hanjawati. Was killed somehow with his feet left our main character Lillian how to solve this mystery she made friends and now she has to send a telegram to Egypt we don’t know what’s gonna happen next.
In history, we are learning about Howard Carter and king Tut Howard Carter discovered King tuts tomb he was an archaeologist and artist. recently, we’ve been learning about how King tut might’ve died, what was He A Murderd by a family member?B chariot crash.C malaria.or D club foot we don’t know.
In science we have been a scientist this includes Mr Ricketts doing a hot and cold water experiment and a main subject in science was mummifying apples the materials we tried were control which is nothing, cocoa powder, laundry powder, salt, and bath salt. recently, we have been focusing enforces a magnets. this could include Mr. Ricketts defying gravity every time he says that the class goes flying high, defying gravity from wicked just so you know these are the forces push pull gravity air resistance water resistance and magnetism go into push or pull perhaps both.
In art with Miss Tonner we did drawings of many Egyptian things. we’re learning about food all over the world in DT, this could lead to cooking lunches from all around the world.
In inside PE we have been doing rolls balances jumps and different ways of travel whilst in outside PE we have been doing fundamental skills and now we are working on netball.
In the eight week term in music we learned and listened to ABBA mamma Mia and a lot of other songs it was very, very fun now we are doing ukulele. We have been learning about how to do dogs have fleas and easy Peasy and this is how we remember the notes goats can eat anything this stands for G C E A .
In French, we have been doing bonjour and counting using Ringolo bonjour means hello in French and salut that also means hello. We have also been counting up to 10 in French. We’ve been doing how are you feeling? my name is this means we can at least say a sentence in French.
We have been doing thinking moves and we have also playing games during thinking moves such as listening to each other as we up and down also play a game where Mr Ricketts will say something we have to link it to that go backwards. we have also been thinking back to the page on the board that will say something that’s happened to us it’s thinking towards the future is thinking forwards we made connections between our learning we give out our opinions into someone else to add on .
