Understanding the circulatory system:
For our science, we have been learning about the circulatory system. How it works is blood starts in the heart, the heart pumps blood around the body. There are two types of blood- oxygenated and deoxygenated. The oxygenated blood travels around the body. Now if you look at the pictures, you can see what we were doing. We were drawing diagrams of the circulatory system and then we acted as oxygenated and deoxygenated blood and travelled around the diagrams.
Voltaire Woods:
We went to Voltaire woods to explore ancient woodlands to compare them to rainforests. We learnt about the eco system and life in it. We discovered all different types of plants and life around us, even the trees. All of us got a small booklet and we had to fill in all of the information we learnt at the woods. We had learnt that this massive tree called The Queen has twisted and dropped her limbs just so that the younger trees get the nutrients they need to grow. When we went deeper into the forest, we found a plant called wild garlic and we were allowed to eat it.
Eventually, we stopped at this arch of plants, and the instructor told us that underneath the arch, there was a Neolithic burial site, and they said than an archaeologist was coming to dig it up. After a while, the miller, Jack, shown us around his woodshed and there were loads of different types like: yew, oak, beach, and ash wood. It was a great trip.
