Dear Parents/ Carers

Thank you for replying to the survey re ‘coming back to school’- it has been critical for our planning.

I now need to create an attendance register of names by this Friday- (the 22ndMay) of children who will be attending on June 1st.

I promised you this risk assessment for opening the school up further to N,R,1 and 6 (see attached) to aid you in your decision making.

It is a long document, not yet signed off by the Trust but heavily informed by the health and safety executive. I apologise for the length but I do not have time enough to create separate guidance for you now—by next week but not now!

So this is an URGENT REQUEST: please email k.bennett@minchschool.netor text us within the School Comms app by, 12noon on Friday 22ndMay, whether you want a place.

Kind regards

Mr Moss

Head Teacher

PS – and just to make you aware:

I was intent, at least initially, on a more part time offer, this so we had the capacity to keep numbers of pupils in groups lower. Given the uncertainty out there; given our first-hand experience of working with different sized groups of our children over the last weeks; given our commitment for getting it right for everyone (those in and out of school) – smaller groups in for 2 or 3 days appeared to us to be the wisest option of a number of ‘shaky on the wisdom’ options. Having done the thinking, we were then told by government that all pupils should be in full time (at the same time as PPE was not appropriate or necessary).

Across the county we have at least stuck with a 4 day week- otherwise cleaning, planning and critically, the learning of those many others not in school would be hopelessly compromised.
