On Wednesday 12th October a group of our KS2 pupils went to a football tournament in Stonehouse. In total there were 25 teams:16 teams in the Year 5/6 competition and 9 teams in Year 3-4 competition.
Year 5/6 played a total of 5 matches and got to the final. Ultimately they lost in a tough penalty shootout which reached the sudden death stage. They claimed the silver medal. The Year 3/4 team played 6 matches and also got to the final and took home the gold.
It was a fantastic opportunity to take part in the sport we love most (and to miss half a day at school!) and we all played so well as a team in both teams. Mr Fortnam did an amazing job coaching the year 5/6 team and Mr Parker, although it was his first sports event as a coach with Minchinhampton, did brilliantly coaching the Year 3/4 team to victory.
