‘Year 3/4 are designing houses which can survive a flood. We watched a film about people living in Bangladesh who have to survive on land that always floods. It is made worse by the sea level rising. We are trying to design houses that could survive despite the flood, for example houses built on stilts and on plinths.’

We think it is important that children’s learning is run through with purpose and wherever possible with a moral purpose, with building their capacity for contributing to the common good. 

‘We think it’s important to learn this way because it’s not fair that its really difficult for people in some other countries and we don’t do anything about it. We’re rich and luckier than many. We don’t live in a war zone; we don’t live with as many natural disasters. We need to help- otherwise they will not survive.’ Edward and Corey
