Curriculum Exemplar – Science

Moonscapes  |  Year 3/4  |  Autumn 21

Instead of simply studying shadows on earth, our Year 3/4 pupils studied shadows on the Moon’s surface, forming around a crater. They reproduced these shadows in the classroom, using plasticine and torches. They wrote NASA reports looking to explain the shadow formations. Click on the image below to view fullscreen.

We were looking for the children to produce exemplary work; to think deeply about what they had observed, what they had learnt and to express their learning in a creative way. Click on the image below to view fullscreen.
