What a wonderful end to our very festive term! Today we went to our whole school Christmas Service dressed up as characters from the Nativity story. Well done children for being so well behaved in the church.
Christmas Party
We had so much fun at our Christmas Party today. First we made party hats.
Then we were entertained in the hall by a magician.
After that we ate a party lunch in the shared area.
Next we watched a film and had a disco in the hall.
Finally we watched the KS1 choir sing their Christmas songs. They were very good.
We all had a fantastic day. Thank you for all your contributions for our lunch.
Christmas Lunch
The children enjoyed tucking into their turkey and roasties today for Christmas Lunch.
Christmas Greetings
Well done to all of the children for their Christmas production of Christmas Greetings. You all sang and danced fabulously.
Outdoor Learning
Falling from the portal into the apple orchard.
Walking through the woods on a lovely Autumnal morning
Feeling moss to help us to generate describing words for our class chapter.
Here are some of the words we came up with
squishy, green, slippery, squidgy, slippery, watery, wet, as soft as a dog’s fur, tickle, springy, spongy and soft.

Tapestry
Please check your emails for a link to log on to Tapestry our online learning journal. Once you have made an account you will be able to view your child’s personal learning journal which will be updated on an adhoc basis. Please add comments and your own observations of all of the amazing things your child gets up to out of school.
Letters and sounds
This week we have been learning the phonemes g, o, c and k. They will be coming home in the book bags on Friday. Please help your child to practise the phonemes at home.
As we have been learning c and k we are having a cape wearing day on Friday. Please send your child into school wearing some kind of cape or cloak (an old sheet would do).
A Portal in Time
This week we have kicked off our school book project “A Portal in Time”. Yesterday we were visited by our Patron of Reading, John Dougherty who helped us generate ideas for our class chapter.
Today we were visited by Di Wall from Minchinhampton History Society. Aqua Class chapter is set in 1920 Minch during an archery competition at Bowmans Green. Mrs Wall told us all about Alice Legh, a successful female bowman who lived at Bowmans Green at this time.
Number 4
Today, in maths, we have been exploring number 4. We found things around the classroom that represented 4 and talked about our ideas on the maths mats. Hollie found a number 4 numicon plate, Lexie found a rectangle and a square and Amelia was able to explain how the two shapes are the same and different. As we shared our ideas we thought carefully about using mathematical language. Austin made a tower of 4 unifix cubes. Oliver brought a dice to the maths mat and explained how the dots told us which number we have landed on. Oscar found 4 dinosaurs and said that one dinosaur could also be number 4 as it has got 4 legs. Tilly made 4o’clock on the clock. We drew our ideas on our clipboard.
