Visits from our pets

This week we have been very lucky to have had a visit from Oscar’s dog, Peppa, on Monday and Darcey’s dog, Rupert, on Friday. We all asked lots of sensible questions and gave both dogs a little stroke. Thank you Mrs Minchin and Mrs Morgan (and Granny) for bringing them in to school.

Here are some of the questions we asked to find out more about Peppa;
What is the dog’s name?
What kind of dog is it?
Does it jump?
How high does it jump?
How old is she?
What does she feel like?
Can she stand on two feet?
What colour are her eyes?

Letters and Sounds phase 3

We have all been continuing to learn Phase 3 sounds this term. So far we have learnt;

sh, ch, th, ng, ai, ee, igh and oa.

We have been practising reading and writing these sounds in words and have sent home sound cards with additional words on the back to learn and practise at home. There are also many free games online to support learning in class. Why not try these..

Watch out watch out there’s a bear about!!

In our registers this morning was a note.

“Please can you make a big pan of Porridge. ”

We found ingredients scattered around the  classroom.

1 big pan

1 bottle of milk

1 jug

1 bag of Porridge

1 big spoon

1 jar of honey.

We followed the instructions and made the Porridge.

Finally the porridge was ready. It looked and smelled yummy but it was too hot so we decided to go out to play and wait for it to cool down.

Suddenly a bear appeared!!! A huge, hairy bear!!!!

He looked very friendly with a big smiley face and he waved at us all.

Suddenly the bear disappeared and when we came back to the classroom we saw 3 bears sitting on 3 chairs and 3 spoons in 3 bowls.

We put all of the clues together. Porridge, bears, bowls and chairs. Just one thing missing … Goldilocks!!! She must have ran away when she saw the bear.

By this time the porridge was ready. It was delicious.
