Welcome back and happy new year! We have only been back for three days and already have packed in lots of learning. Our story this term is The Enormous Turnip so on Thursday we retold the story in the woods, chopped up turnips and carrots to make turnip soup. Mrs Bugg and Mrs Saeed took the vegetables home and made soup. We all tasted the soup on Friday. Some of us thought it was disgusting but most of us thought it was delicious!

Coincidentally, Torin’s grandad did roast turnips for Sunday lunch today (they were not at all enormous though). Torin tried them, but sadly they didn’t go down as well as the soup, which definitely got the thumbs up!
Jacob said it was yummy! He wants it for tea tomorrow! Recipe please?!
