Roots, shoots and tasty fruits!

Aqua Class is bursting with fruits and vegetables this term as we become immersed into our growing topic and what better way to start us off than making and tasting slippery slurpy soup. We had a great time on Monday peeling, chopping and grating our vegetables. Mrs Saeed cooked the soup over lunch time and then we all had a cup full in the afternoon. Some of us weren’t too impressed but most of us thought it was splendidly delicious.

Here is the poem we created during the day

Wash them

Dry them

Aprons on

Let’s get cooking, it won’t take long

Carrots

Potatoes

Turnips white

Scrub them clean with all your might

Grate them

Peel them

Chop them up

Throw them in the big red pot

Stir it

Mix it

Heat it up

Bubbling steaming boiling hot

Simmering

Cooling

Ready to eat

Tasty soup – a special treat!
