Great start!

What a super start we have had at school! Mrs Saeed and Mrs Bugg are so pleased with how well the children are settling down in their new classrooms.  They have all been finding their feet and feeling their way around the school.

We have particularly loved playing outdoors in our outdoor classroom.  Thanks to the PTA and other sponsors we now have a superb stage, sandpit and two den building structures.  Today we spent playtime out on the big playground for the first time and we also popped in to have a chat with Mr Moss in his office

Welcome

Welcome to our new Reception Blog where we will keep you up to date with all of the things we get up to in Aqua and Midnight Class. We will also provide suitable links and information so that you can help with learning at home. Please subscribe to the blog so that you know when we have added a new post. This is an interactive blog and we urge you to add comments to our posts. We regularly share the blog with the children in class and they love hearing what their mummies and daddies have to say.

The Wild Place Project

Today we had a fabulous time on our end of year trip to The Wild Place Project. We played in the Fun Fort, tiptoed and whispered in the woods and bird hide, watched the lemurs being fed and bravely walked the Barefoot Trail.  We also learnt about and saw some real wolves. It was a super duper day. Thank you to all the parent helpers who helped us. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Ramadan

ramadan

Today, as part of our RE topic, we have been learning about Islam and Holy month of Ramadan when Muslims fast for 30 days. We acted out a typical day for a Muslim during Ramadan and thought about how it would feel to go without food and drink all day. Everyone thought it would be very difficult to do.
We also learnt about how important the moon is to Muslims. Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar and the months are determined by the sighting of the moon.  We looked at the different phases of the moon and what they are called.

Busy busy busy

It has been a busy few weeks in Aqua Class, so much so that I haven’t had the chance to update the blog. Many apologies!
I can’t believe how fast the time is flying by. We only have three weeks left until the end of the year!
This term we have been learning the story “Please Don’t Chat To The Bus Driver” and the children have been performing in really well. Outside some of them built the bus and went on an adventure.

We’ve had sports day and I was so proud of all of the children’s efforts. We spent a few PE lessons practising.
