Raft building = wet children and teachers!

Every year raft building is one of the activities everyone looks forward to. Unfortunately, the past few years have brought cold and dreary weather along with the activity. Luckily, this year we had one of the most beautiful sunny days which put everyone in good spirits. I’ve seen this activity taught in so many way, but this year’s was the most successful. Not a single child sat on the side and missed out on any bit of the action and at one point we were all in the lake laughing and splashing around. A few children decided to push the teachers in the lake so obviously we had to get revenge! All children and staff ended the day wet from head to toe! Showers will definitely be needed!!

Our first full day

Apologies for the lateness of the post; it’s been a manic day and this is the first time we’ve been able to stop and gather our thoughts! After a very early morning start for some of us we headed down to breakfast and then made our way off to RAFT BUILDING!!! We were really looking forward to it as we knew we would have a chance to get wet and push a few people into the lake! Teamwork was essential throughout the session and it was definitely needed when it came to designing a raft that wouldn’t sink. Some very interesting suggestions were put forward but in the end each team was able to come up with a strong idea for the final product. But enough talking, we’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Suffice to say it all got a bit wet the minute we arrived at the lake!
