Our first full day

Apologies for the lateness of the post; it’s been a manic day and this is the first time we’ve been able to stop and gather our thoughts! After a very early morning start for some of us we headed down to breakfast and then made our way off to RAFT BUILDING!!! We were really looking forward to it as we knew we would have a chance to get wet and push a few people into the lake! Teamwork was essential throughout the session and it was definitely needed when it came to designing a raft that wouldn’t sink. Some very interesting suggestions were put forward but in the end each team was able to come up with a strong idea for the final product. But enough talking, we’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Suffice to say it all got a bit wet the minute we arrived at the lake!

Raft Building Part 1 on PhotoPeach

Rise and shine

I didn’t need to set my alarm this morning as the children decided to be awake at 5.30 ready for the day! Breakfast is not until 8 so they’ve got a bit of a wait. First activity for us all is raft building so we’re all going to be soaked by lunch! A few grey clouds in the sky but we’re not going to let that ruin our day.

Drowned Rats!

We are here! After a short journey down the road, we arrived safely all ready to meet whatever came our way! We quickly unpacked and headed off for a quick tour of the grounds. Our groupie’s name is Phil and he’s already taught us 2 songs. Unfortunately the rain has decided to join us so we got slightly wet playing Capture the Flag. The children have had the adults in stitches since we arrived! Hopefully we’ll be able to post photos tomorrow when the signal is a bit better! Off to bed now for everyone ready for raft building after breakfast.

It’s nearly here!!

Tomorrow is the day when we set off for our fun filled weekend! We just wanted to answer a few queries we received today:

• Please bring all luggage into the school hall between 8.35am and 8.45am – members of staff will be there to ‘check’ your child and their belongings in

• If your child is having a packed lunch, please send it in a plastic bag (NO LUNCHBOXES)

• Children to wear ‘normal’ clothes – no school uniform

• No need for book bags

• We will be leaving at 2.45pm so if you would like to say goodbye to your child, please make sure you are by the bottom playground for this time – we will not wait around for late arrivals. Alternatively, you can say goodbye to your child in the morning when you drop them off with their luggage.

Many thanks,

Miss Tonner and Miss Whitehead
