So, here we are…..LIDDINGTON.
The coach journey was shorter than expected and the voices louder. Songs were spilling out of the children as if they’d already been to PGL; the beauty of older siblings.
               Â
Terry – our Groupie met us as we arrived. He quickly showed us to our rooms and the children found out who they were rooming with. Not a single complaint, smiles all round.
A safety talk, fire alarm practice and tour of the site came next with all children completely in awe of the site. A few were surprised to find that deodorants would set off the fire alarm….as well as hair spray (Miss Whitehead) and with a number of net ball teams on site…who knows what the night may bring.
Before we knew it, tea time had arrived. The menu….
- Battered fish.
- Chips
- Peas
- Sweetcorn
- Pasta bake
- Copious amounts of salad
- Doughnuts
- and fruit

Food is always a firm favourite!
No time to waste, with over 1000 children on site we moved quickly on to Evening Ents and Wacky Races!
This involved our three teams wearing a hat racing, acting and just generally working really well together. Highlight was watching as one child try to lay an imaginary egg; Mrs Aurelius and Mrs Hough complimented the realism of their pained expression.
The Elephant race
The longest line – Miss Whitehead made good use of her hair!
Genuinely a fantastic first evening and the kids are loving it!  They’re tiring now though as a few have even asked to go to bed! We still have Team names to decide, a bedtime story to calm us down whilst the tidiest room is judged but bed will come soon – followed sometime by sleep. Honest.
Night all……………….
I’d be interested to know if anyone had fruit instead of doughnuts?!!!!
Mrs Aurelius did!
