Welcome back! We hope that you all had a restful and fun break and are ready and raring to go with Term 2. \u00c2\u00a0We have already been busy this week… Yesterday we had a very sparkly introduction to our new Talk for Writing story – How to Catch a Star by Oliver Jeffers.<\/p>\n

Over the next couple of weeks we will be learning to retell the story using actions.<\/p>\n

Today we did Outdoor Learning in the rain. Unfortunately we did not have enough adult helpers to go to the woods, so we stayed on the school field, searched for three different leaves and began making stick stars.<\/p>\n

Letters and sounds lessons have started again this week. \u00c2\u00a0We have now learnt the following phonemes<\/p>\n

s,a,t,p,i,n,m,d,g,o,c,k,ck,e,u,r,<\/h3>\n

Please keep practising each phoneme at home using the sound sheets we send home each week. Practise reading the words on the back of each sheet by sounding out each phoneme and blending the sounds together. Don’t worry if your child doesn’t manage to blend initially, often it takes practise, practise, practise.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
