\nHow do we use the wind to make electricity?

<\/a><\/p>\nWind turns the sails on the turbine which makes cogs move in the gearbox producing electricity into a generator which turns the motor. A long cable runs from the back of the turbine into homes etc.
\nWind turbines are found in different places, on hills and out at sea and even in our back gardens. In the UK we have the most turbines at sea than anywhere else in the world mostly on the west coast of England.<\/p>\n
We learnt about different ways to make electricity and which ones were clean or dirty.<\/p>\n
Dirty Pollution – coal, gas, oil<\/p>\n
In the UK only one quarter of our electricity is produced in clean methods (yellow arrow). How do they put turbines in to the water?
