Minch Moochanics have wind……..sponsorship.
A very generous donation from Reg Windpower has secured racing coveralls for the whole team, we will post a photo up soon.  The UK is one of the windiest countries in Europe, and Reg Windpower are helping harness that wind for clean renewable energy.  We are really happy to have them on the team.

Powered by the Sun!
We are very pleased to announce that our electric car will be exclusively charged by solar panels, generously donated by The Greenshop group. Â We think this will make us the most eco-friendly car on the starting grid! Â We will update the progress of our panels as soon as Ecoelectrical begin to install them.
Moochanics get electrical
As part of our green mission we are trying to involve ourselves with some eco-friendly companies, so when we wanted help with our electrics we naturally had to ask Ecoelectrical to come along!
We have pumped tyres, working brakes and the motor is mounted. Fingers crossed, this was our penultimate build session. Â As long as we wired it up correctly, we are hoping for our first test run next week…….
Headsets!
The Moochanics are now the proud owners of a handsfree bluetooth intercom helmet kit thanks to the kind sponsorship of BLD Group. The motorbike specialists kindly sourced and provided the kit, which will allow our pit crew to speak directly to the driver during a race. Â The Moochanics enjoyed testing the range yesterday!

A little bit of background information
Last year I took my kids to The London Science Museum, and Nate was keen to see a display by a secondary school racing team. Â They were showing off their electric car, and I introduced myself to a member of Green Power, the company responsible for the cars and events. Â I asked if they made a primary school car, and they introduced me to The Goblin car!
The Goblin comes in kit form, and year six students learn how to build, race and maintain it as a team. Â During each year there are races against other schools with the exact same kit, including a national meet at Goodwood race circuit.
Through a very kind anonymous donation from a parent, and generous backing from the PTA , we bought our kit. Â We held a competition to name the team, and Grace Southgate won with her “Minchinhampton Moochanics” entry. Â
Plans are being made to completely charge the car using solar panels, to help further strengthen our green credentials. Â We are all excited about our first season as a team, and look forward to sharing our adventure with you on this blog!

Welcome to the official Blog of The Minchinhampton Moochanics
We will post up our progress, our plans and some fun stuff as we go along. Â This is the first year we have attempted this, so we will be learning as we go along, but the enthusiasm already shown by this group has been obvious from the beginning.
